LOVER/ENEMY

There are two words in Hebrew for enemy. One is (sonei), the other is (OYeV).

(sonei) is almost onomatopoeic; it sounds like what it is. The hissing of the enemy is clear. We are forewarned even as the hiss of the snake announces its poisonous presence.

(OYeV) both sounds and appears almost like the word (OHeV). It is the word for the enemy who masquerades as a friend, who is, of course, a far more dangerous antagonist.
